Yaki Sugi: Day 05

Another evening of burning, tried it outside this time. Spot treating the knots. When we burn the boards, the hard parts of the wood don't char as quickly. So instead of over-burning the softer parts of the wood, we "spot treat" the knots with a small hand held torch to the char level of the rest of the board.
